Point Defiance Park is a 760-acre urban park that includes Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium, the Rose Garden, Rhododendron Garden, beaches, trails, a boardwalk, a boathouse, and about 400 acres of old-growth forest. The park offers something for all its visitors, both wildlife and people. Visitors can watch bald eagles feed on salmon runs, see sea lions migrating from California, and spot harbor seals, mule deer, red foxes, coyotes, pileated woodpeckers, Douglas squirrels, and raccoons. The park also features Fort Nisqually, an off-leash dog park, and a Washington State Ferries ferry dock.
