What to expect

The Chinese Reconciliation Park is a special project undertaken by the City of Tacoma to commemorate the 1885 expulsion of Tacoma's Chinese citizens. The park is located on the beautiful Ruston Way waterfront and features a Master Site Plan that was first developed in 2001 and last updated in 2014. The park includes a 'Ting', a Chinese pavilion, donated by Fuzhou, China, one of Tacoma's Sister Cities. The park serves as a destination that educates people about the expulsion and acts as a connection that infuses the city with hope, healing, and inclusivity. It is a great place for families to visit and learn about the city's history and cultural diversity
