The Centennial Trail is a 40-mile paved recreational trail for pedestrians and non-motorized vehicles that stretches from Nine Mile Falls to the Washington/Idaho state line. The trail passes through high desert ponderosa pine forests, basalt canyons, urban centers, and cultural heritage sites, offering beautiful and accessible recreation all year round. It follows the Spokane River through Riverside State Park and continues east through historic downtown Spokane, with numerous trailheads allowing visitors to break the route into smaller sections. The trail is suitable for hiking, biking, skating, and horseback riding, and offers stunning views of the Spokane Falls, the largest urban waterfall in the United States. Families can enjoy swimming, fishing, and non-motorized boating in the Spokane River, and explore the surrounding areas, including Riverfront Park, which features a newly renovated Pavilion from the 1974 World's Fair and a Numerica SkyRide offering breathtaking views of Spokane Falls
