What to expect

The Seattle Center Monorail is an elevated straddle-beam monorail line that runs along 5th Avenue between Seattle Center and Westlake Center in Downtown Seattle. It is a major tourist attraction and operates as a regular public transit service. The monorail was constructed in eight months at a cost of $4.2 million for the 1962 Century 21 Exposition and has undergone major renovations since then. The system retains its original fleet of two Alweg trains, each carrying up to 250 passengers. The monorail is a fun, quick, and convenient link between downtown Seattle and Seattle Center, making it a great place to visit with family and friends
