English Camp is a historic site located on Garrison Bay, in the northwest corner of San Juan Island, Washington. The site was occupied by the Royal Marines during the boundary dispute between the United States and Great Britain from 1859 to 1872. Today, visitors can explore the remains of the British occupation, including the parade ground, barracks, blockhouse, commissary, and formal garden. The site also features hiking trails, including a strenuous hike up Young Hill to the Royal Marine's Cemetery, and a easier loop trail through woodland and along the bay. The English Camp Visitor Center, located in a former Royal Marine barrack, offers information and ranger-guided walks. The site is suitable for families, with picnic areas, kayak launches, and opportunities for shellfish foraging. The area has limited cellular service, and visitors are advised to bring a map and compass for safety
