What to expect

Salmon Cascades is a scenic spot where visitors can witness the iconic leap of determined fish up a waterfall on their way to spawn. The view of the cascades is lovely year-round, but if you hope to see fish, look for Coho salmon in September and October, or steelhead trout from late March through May. The area has a viewing platform that is wheelchair accessible, with a compacted gravel surface and a gentle slope. The platform is 190 feet from the parking area and has an accessible picnic table and toilet nearby. The Sol Duc River flows through the area, and the surrounding landscape is characterized by old-growth forest and scenic vistas
