What to expect

Dark Hollow Falls is a beautiful waterfall located in Shenandoah National Park, Virginia. The falls can be accessed via a 1.4-mile circuit hike or a 1.6-mile out-and-back trail that follows the Hogcamp Branch stream. The trail is considered moderately challenging due to its steep and rocky terrain, and the return climb can be demanding. However, the scenic views of the falls and the surrounding nature make it a popular hike. The trail is shaded by a canopy of trees, and in the spring, the path is adorned with bright pink blossoms of Mountain Laurel. The falls are also home to various wildlife, including the Blue-Headed Vireo bird and uncommon species of dragonflies. Pets are not allowed on this hike, but service animals are welcome. The trail does not meet ADA accessibility guidelines
