Turk Mountain Hike

Hiking trail Luray, Virginia, United States

What to expect

Turk Mountain is a great hiking spot with a 2.2-mile round trip hike to the 2,981 foot summit, providing a wonderful view to the west. The hike is considered easy and takes around 2 hours and 15 minutes to complete, with an elevation gain of 690 feet. The trailhead is located at the Turk Mountain parking area, and pets must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet at all times. The trail is also popular for birding and running, and the best times to visit are from March to November. The summit offers a nice viewpoint of the Shenandoah Valley, and the trail includes some rocky terrain and fun rock scrambles
