What to expect

The South River Falls Trail & South River Fire Road Loop is a 3.3-mile circuit hike that takes visitors to the base of an 83-foot waterfall. The trail is considered moderately strenuous with a 900-foot elevation change up to the observation point and a 1,200-foot elevation change for the full roundtrip hike. The area is known for its diverse wildlife, including breeding birds such as warblers, vireos, and tanagers, as well as mammals like white-tailed deer, bobcat, and black bear. The trail also features a variety of wildflowers and butterflies, making it a great destination for nature enthusiasts. The hike is suitable for families, but pets must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet at all times
