What to expect

Moorman's River Overlook is a scenic spot with a great view of the Charlottesville Reservoir, also known as Sugar Hollow Reservoir, which is fed by Moorman's River. The river has flooded several times, and the reservoir helps contain debris and prevent damage to nearby homes. The area offers a hiking trail, the North Fork Moorman's River trail, which is 2.5 miles long and features several river crossings and swimming holes. The trail is suitable for hikers of all skill levels and is a great spot for swimming, especially during the summer. The area is also home to various wildlife, including black bears, and offers beautiful foliage during the fall season
