Timber Creek Overlook Trail

Hiking trail New Harmony, Utah, United States

What to expect

The Timber Creek Overlook Trail is a 1.2-mile out-and-back trail with spectacular views of the Kolob Canyons, the Kolob Terrace, and the Pine Valley Mountains. The trail follows a small ridge with minimal elevation gain, making it a relatively easy hike. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Along the trail, you can see an 8,000 ft. mountain ridgeline, and on clear days, you can see Mt. Trumbull 100 miles away at the north rim of the Grand Canyon. During spring and early summer months, the trail is covered in a beautiful display of desert wildflowers, and you may see rare colorful collared lizards. The trail has a dirt and rock surface and can be muddy when wet. There are wood-framed steps in the dirt sections to help during times of snow and wet. The trail is well-blazed, and there are signs to guide you and remind you to stick to the actual trail
