Pothole Point Trail is a short, easy loop trail that crosses sandstone dimpled with pockets called potholes. The trail is 0.6 miles long and takes approximately 45 minutes to complete. It features beautiful views of the Needles and the surrounding terrain. The potholes trap water after a desert rain, creating tiny ecosystems that support a variety of plants and animals. The trail follows cairns and can be rough and uneven in some areas, but it's a great place for families to explore and learn about desert ecology. However, dogs are not allowed on this trail, and visitors are asked to protect the fragile desert ecosystems by staying on the trail and not touching the potholes
