What to expect

Lower Calf Creek Falls is a 126-foot waterfall located in a spectacular cliff-bound canyon. The trail to the falls is a 6.0-mile round trip hike that follows a developed trail adjacent to Calf Creek. Along the way, hikers can see a variety of points of interest, including granaries, beaver dams, and pictographs. The hike can be hot, especially during summer months, and hikers must carry adequate water. The falls themselves are a sight to behold, with water streaming down more than 100 feet along mineral-stained sandstone. There is a pool for swimming at the base of the waterfall, making it a great spot for families to cool off. The area is also home to a variety of wildlife, including trout and pinyon jays

This family's experience:

Activities: We walked the 10-kilometer hike to the waterfall with our 3 kids ages 4, 7 and 10. The trail is mostly flat and there is much to see along the way

Highlights: Our kids walked this walk very easily because of the variety and the songs with different references ✨
