What to expect
The NSR Fossil Park is a popular site for fossil hunting, with a variety of fossils and artifacts dating back to the Cretaceous period. Fossil hunters can find everything from ancient ammonites, to the bones of sharks and woolly mammoths, to arrowheads and spear tips from the local Caddo Indians. The park is open every day and is a great place to visit with family and friends. There are also nearby camping options, including Hidden Grove Resort, Bonham State Park, and Cooper Lake State Park, as well as bed and breakfast options like Carlton House and Cupid's Country Castle

Digging for Fossils in Ladonia, TX
Activities: We went fossil hunting and collecting, and our kids looked for fossils, built a dam, went splashing all over, and repeated. We also found a shark tooth and a Mosasaur tooth fragment!
Highlights: Our kids didn't complain the entire day and we had a great time exploring the riverbed and finding fossils ✨
