What to expect

The Houston Arboretum and Nature Center is a 155-acre non-profit urban nature sanctuary that provides education about the natural environment to people of all ages. It has over five miles of nature trails, with forest, pond, wetland, and meadow habitats, as well as specialty gardens such as a Hummingbird & Butterfly Island, Sensory Garden, and Wildlife Garden. The arboretum offers various programs, including guided nature hikes, bird surveys, and educational workshops. It is also a popular spot for families, with activities such as Tyke Hikes and Discovery Classes for children. The arboretum is managed by the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center Board of Directors and staff under an agreement with the City of Houston Parks and Recreation Department
