What to expect

Palmetto State Park is a 270.3-acre park located in Gonzales County, Texas. The park features the San Marcos River, a 4-acre Oxbow Lake, and many bogs surrounded by dense vegetation, giving it a jungle-like atmosphere. There are five miles of trails for hiking and biking, as well as tent sites, recreational vehicle sites, and cabins for overnight stays. The park is home to a variety of flora, including dwarf palmetto, live oak, and cedar elm, and fauna, such as white-tailed deer, raccoons, and over 240 species of birds. Visitors can enjoy swimming, angling, kayaking, and paddleboarding in the lake and river
