The Texas State Capitol is a historic building that serves as the capitol and seat of government of the U.S. state of Texas. It is widely recognized as one of the nation's most distinguished state capitols and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1970 and designated a National Historic Landmark in 1986. The building is 302.64 feet tall and features an Italian Renaissance Revival architectural style. It houses the offices and chambers of the Texas Legislature and of the Governor of Texas.
