Center for Southern Folklore

The Center for Southern Folklore is a cultural organization that celebrates the arts, music, and heritage of the South from the cultural crossroads of Memphis. The center offers a variety of events, programs, and customized tours that showcase the music and cultural history of the Memphis/Delta region. It has a gallery that shows regional folk art and photographs, a cafe featuring live performances by local blues, folk, Latin, and jazz musicians, and a folklore store selling art, photographs, posters, and CDs by Memphis-area musicians. The center also sponsors the annual Memphis Music and Heritage Festival, which is held each Labor Day weekend. Families can enjoy live music, films, and exhibits, as well as purchase regional folk art, prints, and CDs.
