Kuwohi, formerly known as Clingmans Dome, is a mountain in the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee and North Carolina. It is the highest mountain in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the highest point in the state of Tennessee, and the highest point along the Appalachian Trail. The mountain has a 54-foot observation tower that offers panoramic views of the surrounding terrain. On clear days, visitors can see up to 100 miles and into seven states. The tower is surrounded by a coniferous rainforest, and the area is home to a variety of flora and fauna. The mountain is also a popular spot for sunrise and sunset viewing, with many photographers gathering to capture the spectacular scenery. Visitors can hike to the tower via a short paved trail, and the area is also accessible for cross-country skiing in the winter
