The National Aviary is the only independent indoor nonprofit aviary in the United States and the country's largest aviary. It is home to more than 500 birds representing over 150 species. The aviary offers interactive experiences, including Penguin Feedings, a Penguin Encounter, and a Private Penguin Feeding. It also features a Tropical Rainforest habitat with a sloth, and a variety of bird species, including Andean Condors, Vietnam Pheasant, and Bali Myna. The National Aviary is ADA accessible and offers amenities such as group rates and meeting spaces. Visitors can also participate in Animal Encounters, such as a Sloth Encounter, which supports the National Aviary's work to save birds and protect their habitats
