What to expect

The Duquesne Incline is a funicular that scales Mount Washington near the South Side neighborhood of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was opened on May 20, 1877, and was rescued and restored by a group of local residents in 1963. The incline features original, elegant, wooden cable cars and offers spectacular views of downtown Pittsburgh. The upper station houses a museum of Pittsburgh history and a gift shop. The incline is wheelchair accessible, with the upper station and observation deck accessible to wheelchairs up to 25 inches in width. The incline is a popular tourist attraction and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places
