The Shriver House is a living history museum that showcases the civilian experience during the Battle of Gettysburg. The house, built in 1860, was the residence of George and Hettie Shriver and their daughters, Sadie and Mollie. Visitors can take a guided tour of the house, which is furnished to its 1860s appearance, and learn about the family's experiences during the battle. The house features an authentic Confederate sharpshooters' nest in the attic, where at least two soldiers were killed, and a period garden. The museum also has a collection of artifacts, including live civil war ammunition and medical supplies, and offers special tours and events. The Shriver House has been used as a filming site for various TV channels and has earned numerous awards, including the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission's Historic Preservation Award
