What to expect

Ricketts Glen State Park is a scenic area with 13,193 acres in Luzerne, Sullivan, and Columbia counties. The park features the Glens Natural Area, a National Natural Landmark, with a series of wild, free-flowing waterfalls, including the 94-foot Ganoga Falls. The park offers hiking, camping, horseback riding, and hunting, as well as swimming, fishing, canoeing, and kayaking on Lake Jean. In winter, visitors can enjoy cross-country skiing, ice fishing, and ice climbing. The park is home to a wide variety of plants and animals and has been named an Important Bird Area and an Important Mammal Area. The park has four rock formations from the Devonian and Carboniferous periods and offers environmental education programs for school groups, scouts, and the general public
