Twin Rocks

Rock formation Rockaway Beach, Oregon, United States

What to expect

Twin Rocks is a stunning rock formation located in Rockaway Beach, Oregon. The rocks, which were originally called 'Profile Rocks,' were renamed in 1925 due to another Profile Rocks in the region. Millions of years of erosion have worn away the once fully-connected structure to the classic shape we all know and love. The rocks are believed to have been created by a super lava flow more than 300 miles away, the same one that fuels Yellowstone National Park. Twin Rocks is not only a beautiful landmark but also affects the surrounding landscape, bending the sand around them and altering the beach. The best view of the rocks is from Minnehaha Street, where you can see the 88-foot-high pinnacle and the 35-foot-wide hole. Twin Rocks Friends Camp & Conference Center is also located in the area, offering camps and retreats for people of all ages and providing rental accommodations for groups. The center has 120 magnificent acres at the Oregon Coast, featuring an 80-acre temperate rainforest, a spring-fed lake, a mountain stream, a wetlands boardwalk, and a beautiful Pacific Ocean beach, making it an ideal destination for outdoor schools and family vacations
