The Portland Japanese Garden is a traditional Japanese garden occupying 12 acres, located within Washington Park in the West Hills of Portland, Oregon, United States. It is operated as a private non-profit organization and features eight distinct garden spaces, including the Strolling Pond Garden, Natural Garden, Sand and Stone Garden, Flat Garden, Tea Garden, Entry Garden, Bonsai Terrace, and Tsubo-Niwa. The garden is designed to realize a sense of peace, harmony, and tranquility, and to experience the feeling of being a part of nature. The garden is also home to a variety of plant species, including trees, shrubs, ferns, and mosses, and features several stone lanterns, a 100-year-old temple gate, and a Garden Pavilion. The garden is accessible to visitors of all abilities, with certain areas being ADA accessible, and offers free docent-led tours with American Sign Language interpretation
