Mount Pisgah Arboretum is a 209-acre nature education facility and botanical garden located within the Howard Buford Recreation Area. The arboretum features 7 miles of riverside trails with 23 bridges, riparian meadows, evergreen forests, a rare section of preserved oak savanna, Douglas-fir and incense-cedar forests on hillsides, a water garden, wildflower meadows, a wooded picnic area, and restrooms. The arboretum's habitats are home to many species of native mosses, lichens, ferns, shrubs, and wildflowers, as well as wildlife such as bats, deer, coyote, foxes, and birds. The arboretum offers educational programs, events, and volunteer opportunities, making it a great place for nature lovers and families to explore and learn about the diverse ecology of the southern Willamette Valley
