What to expect

The Everett Covered Bridge is a historic covered bridge located in Peninsula, Ohio, and is the only remaining covered bridge in Summit County. The bridge crosses Furnace Run and was built in the late 19th century, although the exact date of construction is unknown. It is patterned on the 1869 Smith Truss design and was an important part of the transportation system in the area, allowing people to cross the creek and access the Ohio & Erie Canal. The bridge has been repaired and reconstructed several times, including a major reconstruction in 1986 after it was destroyed by a spring storm in 1975. Today, the bridge is a popular spot for photography and is also used for community events, such as contra dances. The bridge is wheelchair accessible and offers scenic views and picnic tables
