Cedar Falls

Waterfall Logan, Ohio, United States

What to expect

Cedar Falls is a picturesque waterfall in Hocking Hills State Park, with the greatest volume of water of all the falls in the area. The waterfall cascades down a steep sandstone cliff into a serene pool below and is especially robust after periods of rain. The trail to Cedar Falls is a one-way loop, approximately 1/2 mile long, and takes about 40 minutes to hike. The trail has steps and bridges, and there are flushable toilets at the restroom. The area is pet-friendly, and well-behaved, non-aggressive pets are permitted on leash. There is a picnic area and restrooms located near the falls. The trail is open year-round, and the waterfall is most likely to run in spring, winter, and autumn

This family's experience:

Activities: We hiked the 1/2-mile Cedar Falls Trail, ending at a beautiful waterfall. The kids were a little tired after the significant stairway to get down into the gorge, but it was worth it for the view of the waterfall

Highlights: The kids loved the beautiful waterfall and the scenic views. We all enjoyed the hike, even though it was a bit strenuous ✨
