The Holden Arboretum is a botanical garden located in Kirtland, Ohio, and is one of the largest arboreta and botanical gardens in the United States. It features over 3,600 acres of diverse natural areas and ecologically sensitive habitats, including 600 acres devoted to collections and gardens. The arboretum specializes in woody plants that can be grown in the climate of northern Ohio and has a number of specimens obtained during wilderness collection trips. It is home to two National Natural Landmarks and features extensive collections of crabapple, lilac, viburnum, and conifer plants. The arboretum also has several special gardens, including the Myrtle S. Holden Wildflower Garden, the Helen S. Layer Rhododendron Garden, and the Arlene and Arthur Holden Jr. Butterfly Garden. Additionally, it offers various activities and attractions, such as hiking trails, a canopy walk, and a children's playground called Buckeye Bud's Adventure Woods
