Columbus and Franklin County Metro Parks is a public agency serving the citizens of central Ohio by providing a regional system of clean, safe, natural area parks. The Metro Parks system features 20 outstanding natural area parks with more than 230 miles of trails and over 28,700 acres of land in seven central Ohio counties. The parks offer various activities such as hiking, picnicking, boating, and educational programs. Some of the notable parks include Battelle Darby Creek, which is the largest Metro Park at over 7,103 acres and features restored tallgrass prairie areas, a nature center, and a Fort Ancient mound, and Blacklick Woods, which is the oldest park in the system and has a forested area with a nature preserve, wetlands, and seasonable ponds. The parks are home to a diverse range of wildlife, including American bison, white-tailed deer, and various bird species
