What to expect

The Duke Lemur Center is a non-invasive research center housing over 200 lemurs and bush babies across 13 species. It is located at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, and is home to the world's largest colony of endangered primates. The center offers a variety of unique tours, including a VIP behind-the-scenes look, and is open to the public through pre-arranged tours. Visitors can observe the lemurs in their outdoor enclosures with toys, puzzles, and other enrichment activities, while a staff member shares lemur facts and answers questions. The center also has a conservation breeding program and Madagascar Conservation Programs to study and protect lemurs, the world's most endangered group of mammals
