What to expect

Roosevelt Island is an island in the East River, between Manhattan and Queens, with a rich history dating back to the colonial era. The island has undergone numerous changes in name and use, and has been owned by various entities, including the city of New York. It is approximately 2 miles long and has a population of around 11,722 people. The island has several residential communities, including Northtown and Southtown, as well as parks, including a promenade around the island's perimeter and Four Freedoms Park at its southern end. There are also several buildings that predate the residential development, including six that are New York City designated landmarks. The island is home to Cornell Tech, a higher-education campus, and has several houses of worship and community organizations
