The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is an art museum that hosts a permanent collection of Impressionist, Post-Impressionist, early Modern and contemporary art, as well as special exhibitions throughout the year. The museum's building, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, is a landmark work of 20th-century architecture, featuring a six-story, bowl-shaped main gallery and a six-story helical ramp. The museum has a comprehensive collection of European painting throughout the 20th century and of American painting from the second half of the century, with notable works by Wassily Kandinsky, Pablo Picasso, Paul Klee, and Joan Miró. The museum is part of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, which also operates other museums in Bilbao, Spain, and Venice, Italy
