What to expect
The Battery is a 25-acre public park located at the southern tip of Manhattan Island in New York City, facing New York Harbor. It contains attractions such as an early 19th-century fort named Castle Clinton, multiple monuments, and the SeaGlass Carousel. The park has beautiful waterfront and flower gardens, making it a lovely place to wander. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking harbor views, vast perennial gardens, bike paths, grand lawns, an urban farm, and the SeaGlass carousel. The park is also a great starting point for walking tours through the city. The area has a rich history, having been an entertainment destination and promenade in the 19th century, and the landing point for immigrants arriving in New York City until 1892
