What to expect

The American Museum of Natural History is a natural history museum located on the Upper West Side of Manhattan in New York City. It is one of the world's preeminent scientific, educational, and cultural institutions, with a collection of over 34 million specimens and artifacts. The museum has 45 permanent exhibition halls, a planetarium, and a library, and its collections include plants, animals, fungi, fossils, minerals, rocks, meteorites, human remains, and human cultural artifacts. The museum also has a full-time scientific staff of 225 and sponsors over 120 special field expeditions each year. It averages about five million visits annually and is a popular destination for families and individuals interested in natural history
