The Santa Fe Botanical Garden is a beautiful place to visit, featuring native plants mixed with appropriate non-natives, which are all selected to demonstrate the variety and richness that can be achieved in this region of scarce water. The garden was designed by landscape architect W. Gary Smith and is situated at the southern end of the Rocky Mountains and at the intersection of four diverse geographical regions. The garden features three main sections: The Orchard Gardens, Ojos y Manos: Eyes and Hands, and the Piñon-Juniper Woodland. Visitors can explore the gardens and enjoy the beautiful plants, as well as the Kearny's Gap Bridge, a historic bridge that is now a part of the garden. The garden is committed to water conservation and has developed a plant collection focused on native and adapted plants that are better able to withstand climate extremes
