What to expect

The Earthship Visitor Center is a unique and sustainable destination that showcases off-grid homes built from recycled materials. Visitors can take self-guided or guided tours to learn about the six basic design principles of Earthships, including building with repurposed materials, thermal/solar heating and cooling, solar and wind electricity, water harvesting, contained sewage treatment, and food production. The center also features a greenhouse, video viewing room, and systems hallway, as well as outdoor pathways to explore. Nearby attractions include the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, hot springs, and ski resorts, making it a great destination for families to learn about sustainability and enjoy the natural beauty of New Mexico
