What to expect
Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area is a 48,438-acre national conservation area located in southern Nevada, near the city of Henderson. The area is known for its unique scenic and geologic features, as well as its rich cultural resources, including the Sloan Canyon Petroglyph Site, which features over 300 rock art panels with 1,700 individual design elements. The area is also home to the North McCullough Wilderness, which provides opportunities for solitude and primitive recreation. Visitors can enjoy hiking, horseback riding, and wildlife watching, while also learning about the area's natural and cultural history

How Far Is The Grand Canyon From Las Vegas?
Activities: We stopped at Sloan Canyon on our way to the Grand Canyon. We explored the area for a few hours and saw some ancient petroglyphs. We didn't go on a hike, but we did look at some amazing geological formations
Highlights: The kids loved seeing the petroglyphs. We learned about the history of the area and the native people who lived here. It was a great way to break up the drive ✨
