Boulder City is a city in Clark County, Nevada, United States, approximately 26 miles southeast of Las Vegas. The city was originally built in 1931 by the Bureau of Reclamation and Six Companies, Inc. as housing for workers who were building the Hoover Dam. It was carefully planned through federal supervision as a model community, with an emphasis on a clean-living environment for dam workers. The city has a unique identity and a small-town charm, and it is one of only two places in Nevada that prohibits gambling. Visitors can enjoy the city's outdoor activities, events, and attractions, such as the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead
