Going-to-the-Sun Road is a scenic mountain road in the Rocky Mountains of the western United States, located in Glacier National Park in Montana. The road is approximately 50 miles long and spans the width of the park between the east and west entrance stations. It is the first road to have been registered in all of the following categories: National Historic Place, National Historic Landmark, and Historic Civil Engineering Landmark. The road is notable for its narrow and winding path, with hairpin turns, especially west of Logan Pass. Vehicle lengths over 21 feet and widths over 8 feet are prohibited between Avalanche Creek and Rising Sun. The road offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and wildlife, including mountain goats, bighorn sheep, and grizzly bears.
