What to expect
The River Hills Visitor Center is a great place for families to learn about the local landscape and wildlife. The exhibit hall offers visitors the opportunity to have up-close encounters with native creatures and learn about the topography of the park. The center also features a huge bird watching window and a kids area. The staff is knowledgeable and offers a ton of programs for the whole family. Inside the visitor center, you can find a large diorama portraying native mammals, birds, reptiles, and plants, as well as microscopes to observe smaller features like algae and leaf structure
