Bagnell Dam

Bagnell Dam is a concrete gravity dam located in the city of Lakeside, Missouri, that impounds the Osage River, creating the Lake of the Ozarks. The dam is 148 feet tall and 2,543 feet long, and it has a maximum capacity of 215 megawatts. The dam provides power to 42,000 homes and is a major source of clean, renewable energy for Missouri customers. The Lake of the Ozarks has a surface area of 55,000 acres, over 1,150 miles of shoreline, and stretches 94 miles from end to end, making it a great destination for outdoor activities such as hiking, sightseeing, and water sports. The area also has rules and regulations in place to ensure public safety and conservation of the environment and the wildlife
