What to expect

Pilgrim Haven Natural Area is a 27-acre nature preserve located in South Haven Township, offering beautiful views of Lake Michigan and a variety of lakeshore habitats. The area features a stretch of Dyckman Creek, a beech-maple forest, and a pebbled beach along Lake Michigan. Visitors can enjoy hiking trails, scenic overlooks, and access to the lake shore. The preserve is home to a variety of wildlife, including migrating birds and monarch butterflies, and has a butterfly wayside garden. The area is suitable for families and offers accessible paths, restrooms, and picnic areas. Visitors can collect a small number of rocks for study or as souvenirs, but are asked to leave large quantities of rocks behind
