The Woods Hole Science Aquarium is a public aquarium that displays approximately 140 species of marine animals found in Northeast and Mid-Atlantic U.S. waters. The aquarium features exhibit cases with bones, skulls, and teeth, as well as information about Woods Hole science and history, fishery science, marine mammals, sea turtles, and local fish species. Visitors can also interact with small fish, crabs, sea stars, whelks, shells, and egg casings in the touch tanks. The aquarium is home to harbor seals and offers a behind-the-scenes look at aquarium operations. The aquarium also has a program to rehabilitate sea turtles that have washed up on Cape Cod beaches after being injured or stunned by cold weather. The aquarium is wheelchair accessible, with a ramp at the rear of the building, and service dogs are permitted. However, no pets are allowed indoors or in the seal habitat, and strollers must be left outside
