What to expect

Bubble Rock is a precariously balanced rock formation located in Acadia National Park, Maine. The rock was created tens of thousands of years ago by glacial erosion and is a great example of a glacial erratic. It is composed of Lucerne Granite, which is different from the surrounding rock of Mount Desert Island. Visitors can hike to the rock via the Bubbles Divide Trail or Bubbles Trail, which offer stunning views of Jordan Pond, Pemetic Mountain, and the surrounding landscape. The trail is moderate, about 0.7 miles one-way, and can be accessed through the Bubbles Divide Trail or Bubbles Trail. The rock is a popular destination for hikers and offers a unique glimpse into the geological history of the area
