Ward-Meade Historic Site

Old Prairie Town at Ward-Meade Historic Site is a 6-acre historic site that includes the Ward-Meade Botanical Garden, preserving the family history of one of the earliest settlers in the area. The site features a replica of an 1854 log cabin, a mansion, a schoolhouse, a church, a general store, and a train station, all from the 1800s. The 2.5-acre Ward-Meade Botanical Garden has meandering paths, distinct garden areas, including national display gardens for hostas and daylilies, and a national conifer reference garden. Visitors can stroll through the gardens, explore the historic buildings, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
