What to expect

Oak Street Beach is a popular summer destination located in the heart of Chicago's Gold Coast. The beach offers a range of amenities, including chair rentals, concessions, bike rentals, volleyball rentals, and restroom facilities. There is also an ADA accessible beach walk and a spectacular view of the city skyline. The beach hosts several amateur and professional volleyball tournaments throughout the summer. A 2011 mural by Jeff Zimmerman, 'You Know What You Should Do,' is located along a wall parallel to the lakefront trail at the Oak Street Beach underpass, raising awareness about beach health and water quality. Distance swimming is available parallel to the shore from Division Street to the Chess Pavilion. The beach is a great place to visit with family and friends, with plenty of activities and amenities to enjoy
