Montrose Avenue Beach

Montrose Avenue Beach, located in Lincoln Park, is Chicago's largest public beach. The beach offers many amenities, including food concessions, kayak and volleyball rentals, showers, and restrooms. A natural area south of the recreational beach attracts many migratory birds during the fall and spring seasons, and a serene dune habitat hosts a rare 'panne' habitat and endangered plant life. The beach also features a dog-friendly area and a non-motorized boat launch. Visitors can enjoy distance swimming, and the beach is also a popular spot for kiteboarding and surfing.
