What to expect

Kūpinaʻi Pali, also known as Waldron Ledge, is a scenic spot with a panoramic view of Kaluapele (Kīlauea caldera) and Halemaʻumaʻu crater. The area was once part of Crater Rim Drive, but a 6.7 magnitude earthquake in 1983 damaged the road, which was then converted into a trail. The trail is easy and wheelchair accessible, with a paved road surface, making it suitable for families with strollers. The hike is approximately one mile round-trip and takes about 45 minutes to an hour to complete. Bicycles are also permitted on this paved trail
