Sunset Beach

Beach Haleiwa, Hawaii, United States

What to expect

Sunset Beach is a two-mile stretch of mostly beige sand located on the North Shore of Oahu in Hawaii. It is known for big wave surfing during the winter season and is considered one of the longest stretches of rideable surf in the world. The beach provides a great place for families to play in the sand, and in the summer months, the water is flat and perfect for swimming and snorkeling. However, during the winter months, the waves can be dangerous for inexperienced surfers due to extensive coral formations near the surface. The beach is also home to several surfing competitions, including the Triple Crown of Surfing and the Quiksilver Big Wave Invitational in honor of Eddie Aikau. Visitors can enjoy watching the sunset, surfing, swimming, and snorkeling, as well as exploring the nearby tide pools and observing the diverse marine life
